For tobacciana collectors out there, here is a nice item, a hand-carved ashtray made of banded brown and white onyx.
Measures just shy of 7 inches long, 5 inches at its widest point, and a solid inch and 3/4 thick. The sides are cut vertical in a “rail” pattern, while the center bowl was probably machined out. There are two short furrows for cigarettes, and a longer one, probably for cigar or pipe. It has been used a couple times, and I did clean it out quite a bit. I believe that a good scrubbing will further clean it up, but really, this just adds character and soul to it! Seams in the banded onyx show up very well, and do highlight the beauty of the stone.
Overall, the ashtray has been polished and smoothed down, and would really be a great addition to any collection! Actual shipping weight will be about 3-4 pounds, with proper packing and protection.
