A very lovely and very vintage item. This wood ashtray is designed for pipes, having three large pedestals as pipe rests along the outside edge.
It features a oxen-pulled Conestoga covered wagon, with three bullwhips around the edge, too. It stands 1 1/2 inches high at the pipe stands, 7 1/2 inches across the widest point.
It is indeed an unusual item, and dates from about the very late forties, or early fifties. There is a sticker on the back that states OrnaWood MADE IN U.S.A.
