Here is a very nice find, a vintage print by Doug Kailey, dated 1985. This displays a very vintage scene from about 1880 or so, of a engine locomotive, coal car and caboose, all on #410.
This marvelous print is titled “Calumet”, but does not offer any further information. I did a little research and I do believe this print is from a long-lost photograph and is titled after the now-ghost town of Calumet, Colorado. Obvious in the picture are several men, all in posing for the picture. Several other sketches by this artist are from the Salida area in southern Colorado so I believe this is related to that area.
This 11 by 14 inch print is on thick cardstock, properly framed and ready to hang on any railroad buff’s den wall, or in a nice bar and grill.
